That curiosity started in childhood with K'Nex and evolved into metal fabrication, construction, working on cars, and eventually, deep diving into computers. As a natural "jack of all trades" with an obsession for tech literature, I spent years reading about concepts that felt just out of reach.
That changed when large language models and advanced computing became a reality. I was instantly hooked. Suddenly, ideas that used to just be concepts became things I could actually build and program.

Ran Whisper for speech to text and Piper for text to speech, with a transcriber running on swap memory to process context on just 1GB of RAM, talking to GPT through API calls.

Embedded Whisper for speech to text and Piper for text to speech behind a web GUI, connected to a speaker and microphone.
Fully customizable, with built-in VPNs, advanced traffic management, network visibility, integrated security plugins, and intrusion prevention.
A mini PC container built to host services and programs, including a home automation system, a local offline LLM, and a web search interface.
Used newer LLM models for speech to voice and voice to speech. An edge device decides which LLM to activate on the offline host. The host processes input and either responds directly, runs a search through the web search interface for more information, or reaches out to the home automation system to execute a command.
Throughout these builds, and others, I started to see how much data gets sent out about everything we do, and how much current technology constantly streams data back that isn't needed. That's what pushed the shift away from API keys and online models, toward building my own systems with safety gates and stop gaps.
